According to the report tabled before the MCA's, the leading Assembly Committee is Finance and Revenue Collection chaired by Oliver Nzeki.

However, the report also indicated that the department of Agriculture, Environment and Natural resources was the poorest in service delivery to the people of Machakos.

The committee is headed by Kibauni ward representative Edrick Mutua Ngunzi.

Speaking during the assembly proceeding, Nzeki said that it was self dedication that had helped him defend the first position.

"It must begin from ourselves by not wasting public funds because we know how much we have spent and how many phases we have covered in service delivery to our people," said the Mua MCA.

The Muthwani MCA Dominic Maitha said the drop witnessed in many departments was due to the failure by chairpersons who have not been researching on their committees and budget of funds spent.

"Today, we should be in a position to tell this house how much money has been used and how many projects have been successfully undertaken as they first proposed the finances they needed and were granted but now they complain of financial challenges, " said Maitha.
