Nyamira County Assembly Clerk, Daniel Orina, was on Thursday suspended after being accused of granting himself 2 million car loan.
He was then given a three-month compulsory leave pending his appearance before various County Assembly committees.
According to the speaker of the Nyamira County Assembly, Moffat Teya, Mr Orina granted himself a 2 million shillings as car loan without any policy regulating staff loans.
However, Mr Orina has since come out to defend himself claiming he acted according to the laws.
The suspended county clerk blamed the county MCAs on the accusations levelled against him terming them as a mere witch-hunt by the leaders.
"I did everything under the law and anybody alleging malice on the way I did business as clerk as doing so to milk political capital out of it," said Mr Orina.
The embattled county clerk declared that any efforts to oust him won't shake him in any way and is ready to move on.
"I am not afraid to move on if they feel so but my conscience is clear that I did not act outside the dictates of the law," he added.
Apart from granting himself 2 million shilling car grant, Mr Orina is accused of other various financial improprieties that ultimately led to his suspension.
