Kiambu County assembly majority leader, Patrick Chege, is a disturbed man.

On Tuesday, he ran berserk ranting incoherently against Governor William Kabogo.

Nominated MCAs Josphine Wamaitha, Florence Ngeru and Alice Wamuhu complained that he had threatened to rape them. This forced them to seek security from the assembly.

In September, Chege claimed that his life was in danger after he reappeared from hiding.

The Gitothua MCA, then called on the County Assembly Speaker, Gathii Irungu, to ensure his safety is guaranteed.

“I had gone into hiding following threats on my life. I was housed by a Catholic priest in Ruiru,” said Chege.

He said that he was forcefully medicated by three policemen who had been trailing him and a medic who gained entry into the priest’s compound and took him captive from the church compound.

“I was injected with an unknown substance which left me unconscious. I found myself on a hospital bed when I regained consciousness at Chiromo Lane Hospital,” said the majority leader.

Chege said a group of youths stormed the hospital and demanded his release.

“At the hospital, I continued to receive treatment for an undisclosed medical condition. I protested but the hospital staff ignored me,” said the MCA.

He denied being ill saying he was healthier than a majority of the county assembly members.

His outburst on Tuesday could be a pointer to a deeper lying problem or proof that he could have medicated as he alleges putting him in a paranoid state.

No communication has been issued after he was arrested by the police yesterday afternoon.
