Kiambu County Assembly deputy speaker, Antony Macharia, has vowed to ensure that MCAs in the county pass Education bill.
If the bill is passed, it will see both college and university students in the county get access to education loan.
Macharia said that the funding will not be different with Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
"The main reason of the bill is to fund less fortunate students to pay their college and university education," said Macharia.
The deputy speaker said that he is a family man and helping learners from poor background is his priority.
Macharia expressed his concerns with bright students who drop out of school due to lack of school fees.
“The fund will really help those students who did not access HELB loan,” said Macharia.
Meanwhile, Kiambu county governor William Kabogo who was in the same meeting said that his government is ready to boost education in the county.
He urged leaders to pass the bill once it is tabled in the county assembly.
