North Kanyamkago ward rep George Omamba, on Thursday retained his seat as the Migori County Assembly Deputy Speaker.
This is after he garnered 36 votes out of the 53 votes cast in an election conducted at the County Assembly plenary.
Omamba defeated Thomas Akungo of Kaler Ward, who got 17 votes out of the 53 votes cast in the election presided over by the County Assembly Clerk Tom Onyango Opere.
Soon after the results were declared, Akungo conceded defeat and assured the winner of unity.
The repeat election came weeks after the county assembly conducted another election to elect Speaker of the assembly following dispute from the opponent.
Boaz Obado was retained as the Speaker after the repeat election.
