Proprietors of Jesco Company and former Assembly officials who were named in the graft will appear before the joint committee sitting which has been said will be held at Joventure Hotel starting 10am.

A previous report by the joint committee had indicated that two companies which had been contracted to supply furniture to the 35 Ward offices as well as Hansard equipment for the assembly chambers could not account for the over Sh11 million.

The report read by the joint Chairman Simba Opepo had laid blame on the Assembly Procurement office and the Assembly's leadership over what the report indicated as inadequate proof to show that the money was spent as expected.

The report was however, not debated as it was referred back to the committee to get the defence of those accused, especially the former Assembly employees and the management of the companies which were not given time to respond to the corruption allegations.

On Friday, the committee confirmed that some of the suspects will appear before it, but committee members declined to divulge on whoever was to be expected before the committee.

The committee could also not confirm whether journalists will be allowed into the grilling room.

Nerea Okombo, a member of the committee said they would give the report after the entire process.

"Currently we are doing an investigation as the Assembly and I cannot dwell on that issue. Every detail will be given once the investigations are complete so as to who is coming or if journalists will be allowed. I think you will just need to get that response from all the committee members," said Ms Okombo.
