The Machakos County assembly speaker Bernard Mung'ata on Tuesday announced that all media practitioners would have access to news from the county assembly.
Speaking during a power breakfast held in Machakos town, Mung'ata stated the assembly was willing to work closely with all journalists.
"We are a transparent house and are willing to work with media professionals even in inviting the journalists in our committee discussions as well as house proceedings to ensure our people receive accurate information," said Mung'ata.
However, also speaking during the breakfast meeting, the chairman of journalist association in Machakos County Michael Mutinda stated the unity will ensure first-hand information is relayed to the public.
"Working together will encourage truth and correct information as journalists will not have to dig information from different sources which end up rising conflicts of what's truth or exaggerated information," said Mutinda.
