The county assembly of Uasin Gishu has pledged to work closely with the executive arm of the county government under the leadership of Governor Jackson Mandago.

This is in what the County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat says will ensure the county government offers quality services to mwananchi.

Speaking in Eldoret on Sunday, Kiplagat reiterated the need for a close working relationship between the Legislative and the Executive arm of the county government.

"As an assembly we shall assist the executive to deliver on their agenda by playing our oversight role geared towards making sure this county achieves its promises to the electorate," said the speaker.

"We also want to assure the public that we shall work hand in hand as leaders to make this county a better place," he added.

Governor Mandago on Thursday addressed the assembly where he outlined his development agenda for the next five years.

The governor's address now paves way for the 30 elected and 17 nominated Members of County Assembly to officially begin their legislative and oversight duties.
