Kisii county residents have a reason to smile after a long-promised expansion of feeder roads by Governor James Ongwae in the area begun.
According to the county executive in charge of transport John Omwoyo, the project is expected to cost the county about Sh100 million and for now, they will be focusing on busy roads that connect farmers and locals to the main tarmac roads.
Speaking on Monday when he visited the ongoing expansion of Riana-Suneka road the executive said they want to ensure that all projects that have begun are completed right on time without delays.
"The road expansion project in the area is among the many promises that Governor Ongwae gave during his campaigns and we are out to ensure that they are delivered as the county has already set aside funds for the same," said Omwoyo
Omwoyo, however, urged all locals to work along with the contractors so that they can be able to deliver the projects on time without difficulties.
