Environment, water and natural resources executive Richard Rop said the move to relocate the hawkers has opened ways to improve the cleanliness of the county headquarters.

"The county government will start to plant   flowers in the town and also put up dustbins in designated areas to curb litter menace in the CBD," said Rop.

He observed that it is the right of every Kenyan to have a clean environment as stipulated in the constitution. Rop has also called on the business community to work together with the  county government so as to  improve and maintain the town’s cleanliness as a way of attracting investors. The central Rift Valley passengers service vehicles savings and credit society has  also endorsed the decision by Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to evict hawkers from the central business district in town and relocating some of the town's matatu terminus. The Sacco chairman, Stephen Muli, said "Instead of blaming the governor of not honouring the memorandum of understanding he had entered with the traders, the affected hawkers should instead thank the governor for finding a suitable trading zone for them we as a Sacco we support the governor's efforts to reclaim Nakuru lost glory."
