The county government of has blamed banks for the delayed payment of salaries for health workers.

The county health workers have not received their salaries for the last two months triggering a protest.

They demonstrated in Kisumu town on Monday demanding payment of their salaries.

But addressing the press, County Health Director Dr Ojwang' Lusi said not only a section of the worker had their pay delayed.

"The health workers in Kisumu County have been paid except for 110 people who bank at Barclays Bank," he said.

Those who haven't been paid were the ones who staged a demonstration on Monday.

"The county government is addressing the matter and they will be paid by Wednesday."
