Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru has pleaded with county residents to work with government in a bid to curb illicit brew business.
Even though the county boss noted decreased cases of illicit brewing, he however insisted that the government is determined to end the business.
“The government declared total war on illicit brew makers and sellers. Police are doing a commendable job to end the illegal business but some few individuals who are yet to be arrested are still engaging in the business,” he said.
He further blamed parents for rampant cases of youths taking the outlawed second generation brew in the region.
“Parents should be blamed for increased alcohol addicts in the region because most children who are supported to be at school are left home to make, sell and consume illicit brews,” he added.
