Kisii town main market chairman Elijah Ombongi has challenged the county government to construct shades at the market
Speaking on Tuesday, Ombongi noted that Kisii county governor James Ongwae promised to construct the market shades when he visited last year a promise which has never been fulfilled.
He also said there are no toilet and water in the market what they are asking for from the county government
“We are wondering why we are suffering here at Kisii town main market no toilet, shades and water but we always pay the tax,” noted Ombongi.
“Ongwae promised to construct the shades but we are incurring losses once it rains let Ongwae help us as his businessmen in Kisii,” added Ombongi .
The secretary of the market Nemuel Mwalimu asked Kisii county government to add more garbage collectors in the market since the market is large in size.
“Here at Kisii town main open air market there are three garbage collectors, let the number be added to have an embracive environment,” noted Mwalimu.
