Nakuru County Assembly clerk in charge of transport, Judith Nduku Maingi, 38, has been found dead in her house under mysterious circumstances.
Nduku was found dead in her rental house in Naka Estate by area administration personnel on Friday after she was reported missing for a week.
Free-Area Chief Stephen Macharia said he received information from county employees that Ms Maingi was missing at work and could not be traced.
“I received information from county employees who said Maingi was not reporting to work and that she could not be traced over phone and decided to locate her house and try finding her,” said Macharia.
Neighbours said they started noticing a foul smell emanating from her house and alerted cops, who broke into the house only to discover her lifeless decomposed body.
Her phone was plugged onto power supply which caused many who had called her not to suspect anything was amiss since it rang continuously without being picked.
Leah Serem, a member of County Assembly noted that while in Thika for KICOSCA games, the deceased had complained of a headache but took painkillers before traveling back with other employees last Thursday.
The body has been taken to Nakuru Mortuary for postmortem while police conduct investigations on the cause of death.
