Kisii county commissioner Kula Hache has said 85 students are being investigated over the burning of schools in the county.
Speaking on Wednesday in Kisii town during a meeting with disaster management officers, Hache said 29 secondary schools in Kisii County were involved in fire tragedies and investigation are ongoing.
“This is county which has experienced the most fire incidents particularly in schools, 85 students are under investigation and the truth will be told soon,” she said.
She also warned those who buy petrol with containers and urged them to have letters from their chiefs or OCPD that permits them to buy petrol.
“We understand some have posho mills that use petrol but we can’t allow them buy using containers they should have letters from their chiefs or OCPD to show why they want to buy petrol using containers,” she added.
“That step can curb fire incidents in schools because it has been discovered some do buy with an aim of burning schools,” she insisted.
