Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has decried increased incidences of house being broken into.

He said such cases have been reported especially in estates due to the ongoing rainy season.

"I have received information from the public that residents have been terrorised by gangsters  breaking into their houses. I won't allow wananchi to be terrorized under my watch," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.

"Estates such as Hawaii, Action, Kamukunji, Langas, Subaru and Huruma have been notorious and we will deploy more police officers in those areas," he added.

He, however, called upon wananchi to embrace Nyumba Kumi initiative by ensuring they know the whereabouts of their neighbours.

"This is the only way that will guarantee security since people with unwanted characters will be identified and reported," noted.

He urged wananchi to act as their watchdog by reporting any individual suspected to commit crime since security begins with you.

Hassan assured residents of their security before, during and after the October 26th Presidential elections.
