There has been a major reshuffle in the police force in Kiambu County, HiviSasa.com has learnt.
The transfers are in line with County Commissioner Esther Maina's announcement during Mashujaa day that police reshuffles have been carried out to improve security in the county.
It has been reported that officers who were serving in Ndumberi police post have all been transferred to stations outside Kiambu County as the commissioner moves to improve security in the area.
Ndumberi is said to have been one of the worst hit areas in the county in terms of crime with cases of robbery, murder and car jacking being rampant in the past months.
The residents also applauded the county commissioner saying the move is a commendable effort towards enhancing security in the area.
“We thank the county commissioner for keeping her word and we know that this area will now be safe,” said Robert Kiarie, a businessman in the area.
“No one could dare operate their businesses after 6pm but now we are seeing officers on patrols and we are happy about it,” said Lucy Wacera a resident of the area.
Other areas that were said to be crime-prone like Limuru and Rironi have also seen a major reshuffle in the police force.
