Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru has been blamed for increased laxity among police officers in the region.
According to residents, Nakoru has failed to ensure police officers are patrolling day and night in the region to beef up security.
“Crime is on the rise because Nyamira County commissioner who should ensure that police officers are patrolling day and night is sleeping on his job.
"Criminals are colluding with the rogue officers to steal from people but Nakoru is nothing to help end crime despite the numerous calls,” said Jeremiah Omanwa.
Another resident Kefah Moenga stated that Interior Cs Fred Matiang’i should reshuffle police bosses in Nyamira County.
“Police bosses starting from the commissioner are lazy. Fred Matiang'i should chip in and deal with them," he said.
Moenga challenged elected MPs in Nyamira County to intervene and push Matiang’i to deploy new and experienced police officers to serve in the region.
