Nakuru County Commissioner Mohammed Birik has warned politicians against inciting the public.
Birik who was addressed the press over the weekend said that politicians who are fond of using inciting language will not be welcomed in the county.
Birik added that appropriate measures are in place to monitor such individuals and action taken against them.
“Politicians who are fond of inciting the public will be dealt with accordingly,” said Birik.
The commissioner added that they collaborating with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to crack the whip on hate mongers.
Birik asked residents to be wary of inciters and shun them completely. He said development would not be realized if there is no peace.
The commissioner indicated that various campaigns aimed at promoting peace are in place.
“We are keen to unite all people in Nakuru,” said Birik and called on residents to embrace unity.
Birik stated that it is the responsibility of every citizen to support security initiatives being formulated by the government.
