Kisii county government has announced plans to improve the education standards in the county.
Kisii county education minister Andama Nyamoko on Thursday said the county will allocate more funds to help in improving the working environment for learners and teachers for better performance to be realised .
“The county has given education a top priority. More teachers will be employed in the county to serve the increased number of children who are enrolling in school,” he said.
He said plans are underway to improve infrastructure in schools to accommodate more pupils and students.
Nyamoko urged chiefs and their assistants to ensure children who have reached a level for enrolling in school reports to school in January.
“School dropouts won’t be tolerated in the county. We expect a bigger number of children enrolling in schools starting next year when both primary and secondary will be free as President Uhuru Kenyatta announced,” he added.
