County Government officials have visited Getembe, Nubia area that was affected by the fire on Wednesday.

Kisii county communication Deputy Director Kenan Miruka said that the affected families were issued five blankets, a mattress, cooking oil, sugar and Sh5000. 

County officials led by Director of Disaster management Julius Tinega said that the money will help in purchasing assorted household items to help the families cope with the disaster. "The money will help the families in purchasing households and other items," said Tinega. Tinega pulled the blame from the firefighters over delay to reach the scene of the tragedy saying the machinery was under repair.

He also said that the County Government would help purchase another fire engine.
