Speaking to the media on Tuesday, county Clerk Philip Adundo said the reports were untrue and biased and that they are only meant to damage the reputation of the county government.

According to Mr Adundo, the reports are peddled by 'malicious people' out to discredit the county's 'wonderful renovation'.

The clerk was also quick to dismiss the letter said to have been sent from the county's Finance and Planning Chief George Ongaya which questioned the renovation plan.

The letter had raised questions regarding the procurement procedures used in the process and it also raised concerns that there was contravention of  Public Finance Management Act.

"The letter is malicious and its authenticity is questionable. I personally asked the Executive member and said he was not aware of such a letter," Adundo  was quoted by the Star newspaper.
