Over 600 pupils from Kinari Primary School in Dundori ward, Bahati sub-county have received a new pair of school uniforms courtesy of Nakuru County government.

Governor Kinuthia Mbugua donated a set of new school uniforms to the pupils on Wednesday.

In his address shortly after the exercise, the governor said such incentives have raised the school’s performance.

He said in school where pupils have been presented with free school uniforms, performance has improved due to improved self-esteem.

“A pupil who has self confidence will be able to concentrate on his/her studies. A smart image also boosts their ego so they automatically perform well,” he said.

He said he was living up to pledges he made in his campaign manifesto of ensuring that all public primary school pupils receive a new set of school uniforms.

“I know that I pledged many things in my campaign manifesto and I am assuring you that I will make sure I live up to those promises. Moreso, I will make education in Nakuru the best,” the county boss said.

He added that the quality of education during his tenure as the governor has improved, an indication that education standards have become better too.

He has been accompanied by his deputy Joseph Rutto, County Secretary Joseph Motari, County Executive chair in-charge of Education Francis Mathea, Dundori Ward MCA Steve Kihara among other county officials.
