Uasin Gishu County ECDE teachers have been urged to observe work ethics and uphold professionalism while undertaking their daily duties in their respective schools.
According to the County Education Officer Rael Too, when the State introduced the new curriculum, some teachers started looking down upon colleagues especially those teaching in PP1 and PP2.
"We have noticed this from some few elements who are trying to outdo their workmates over the introduction of the new curriculum," Too said during the training of County ECDE teachers on Competency Based Curriculum (CBC),Friday in Eldoret.
"I want you to portray professionalism and avoid side shows and instead work for the betterment of ECDE children," she added.
She, however, urged them to follow the new curriculum by enrolling children who are not below four years.
"Any teacher who will do the contrary will face the full force of the law," warned Too.
She also revealed that the county government is working towards employing more ECDE teachers to cater for the rising number of children.
"We will soon employ more teachers for our children to get quality and not quantity education. We are also considering confirming the 1,000 ECDE teachers on permanent and pensionable terms," she added.
