Uasin Gishu county's Department of Tourism is pursuing and identifying more tourism sites to sell the County within the County and beyond, and attract investors.
On Thursday, officers from the Tourism department led by Tourism and Wildlife CeC Mary Njogu visited Moiben ward, where they were hosted in Maraba's farm which is an identified Tourist site, Solid Rock Gardens Proposed Tourism Centre, lying on the slopes of Chebororwa Hills.
Accompanied by Director and Officers from the Department of Tourism and Wildlife, the CeC took a tour around the huge and vast land that they plan to establish a tourism centre.
The land holds a lot of Tourism potential facilities and natural environment that can accommodate and spearhead tourism potential such as accommodation facilities, scenic views of the Chebororwa hills and landscape.
Also the land houses wide variety of birds for the ornithologists and bird watchers, conference halls that can hold meetings and a natural water spring just below the landscape, indigenous trees and shrubs for the nature center lovers and the Masai caves.
"They say that Tourism is the goose that lays the golden egg and with this the area can be a goldmine for Uasin Gishu County and raise the economic growth rate and offer employment to the locals as well and it becomes an advantage to them," said Njogu during the tour.
