Nakuru County's Executive arm is in disagreement with the county assembly over the reallocation of over more than Sh 300 million from the former to the latter.
The proposal which is contained in the controversial supplementary budget is said to have gone a step further to split the assembly and Governor Kinuthia Mbugua. MCAs are now claiming that the plan is aimed at moving Sh 345 million from the county assembly which will paralyse all its activities.
The MCAs are now demanding for the immediate resignation of the finance secretary Francis Mathea.
They are accusing him of have failed to consult with them before coming up with the budget.
According to Kabazi MCA Mwangi Waithaka, who is the chairman of Agriculture and Livestock committee, agriculture could be highly affected due to lack of funding.
"Agriculture is the backbone of economy in this county and it is very sad seeing it receiving a very small portion of the allocation," Waithaka said.
Majority leader Waithuki Njane speaking on Wednesday morning at the county assembly said that the MCAs want Mathea to resign since he has even failed in coming up with ways to generate more revenue.
"Mathea should resign with immediate effect. His work and performance below par," Njane said.
