About Sh240 million is set to be used to improve water supply in Tana River county, county water director Guyo Madubi has said. The director said nine water projects have been launched in the semi arid county building the National government. He noted that Tana North sub county has been allocated Sh60 million for piping water while Tana Delta was allocated Sh80 million that will see extension of water supply to Garsen.

Tana River county is one of the court worst hit by prolonged drought, a situation that has left resident and livestock starving.

Herders have been forced to move with their livestock to far areas in search of water and pasture.
