Traders in Kisumu on Thursday received cheques worth Sh4 million.
The money is expected to enable the traders jack their businesses as the county positions itself to become a key business hub in Western region.
Governor Jack Ranguma said the county government will focus at creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The governor gave out the cheques to the traders at the county headquarters.
Traders who benefited from the cheques said they would do all it takes to improve business in the county.
Ranguma said more traders will receive cash to enable them improve their businesses.
The traders last year complained that the county government was not helping them in improving their livelihoods.
