The County Government of Machakos has been asked to asked to establish a youth recreation centre to enable them utilize their leisure time well.
The call was made in Athi River yesterday by Rescue Souls Foundation's Director, Eunice Muthoni, who said the centre would help bring up responsible children and youth in the region.
Muthoni said the centre would help keep the idle youth and children busy and give them opportunities to learn good values and virtues that would shape them into focused citizens.
She observed that most youth were idling in Athi River town since they had nowhere to spend their leisure time tempting some of them to engage in immoral activities.
She said the centre would help nurture and tap talents among the two groups of the residents because if established will provide them with learning, playing and networking facilities.
The director pointed out that the region had similar centre in the region hence termed it as a project to be given a first priority by the county leadership.
She called on the youth from Athi River to develop good readership amongst them and refrain from bad companies by spending well their leisure time.
