The county government of Kisii has been faulted for allegedly favoring some parts when it comes to garbage collection.
Residents of Nyamage have raised their concern saying the county government has neglected them for long when it comes to garbage collection.
“It seems the county government is only interested in some parts when it comes to the collection of garbage," said Jeremiah Ohango a resident.
"How comes that we have never seen the county government channeling resources to our area for garbage collection,” he added.
They claim the garbage has been lying there year in year out with false promises from those in power that they were going to address the issue.
“We have spent years with the garbage yet nothing has been done about it," said Fred Muge a local.
"I don’t know if the county government is waiting for the situation to get out of control for them to address the issue,” he added.
“We are worried that the situation will become worse especially with the rains setting it," said Muge.
"It may lead to an outbreak of diseases such as cholera which is very risky," he said.
They now call upon the county government to take action.
