The Machakos County Government has set apart a special kitty for emergencies for the financially challenged families and individuals in the county.

This was disclosed by the Mavoko Sub County administrator, Moses Muthusi, who said the county leadership had gone a notch higher to support residents in dire need.

Muthusi said that since the time the county government was incepted in 2013, some residents had school fees paid for their children as well as medical bills for deserving cases.

Speaking from his Athi River office on Thursday, Muthusi said the programme is going on in the whole county and it is not discriminating any individual.

He warned politicians from misusing innocent residents to seek solutions to their individual problems and selfish gains.

Muthusi said the county government had comprehensive development strategic plan to ensure all residents' social and economic well-being has improved in a bid to improve the county's economy.

The administrator said that the current political interferences would not interfere with the county government's operations terming them short lived.

He called on Athi River residents to keep focused and work hard, closely with the county government to enable them achieve their personal individual needs and achieve their New Year resolutions.
