Nearly all artisans in Machakos county have expressed they discontent in Governor Mutua's government noting that the county government is harassing them  through the revenues collectors who frustrate their efforts to earn a decent living from their talent.

While speaking to a kituionline.com reporter, a 50-year old Slota Slum hinted that they are unable to trade like before since the county askaris keep harassing them.

Apparently, the artisans are asked to register their businesses and acquire premises in order to pay the revenue to the county yet theirs is not business passe.

The poor man complained of the maltreatment owing to the fact that he had two wives with six children; all of whom depend on him and his meagre Sh 8, 000 monthly income he manages.

“I am poor and cannot afford to buy materials for making the handicrafts, I recycle livestock hide and scrap metals to make my wares,” said the elderly man urging the county to allow him make his little money peacefully.
