According to them, the county government has brought orderliness in parking that was a contagious issue before among them.

Speaking in Kisii town on Friday, they were unanimous that the James Ongwae led government has addressed their plight and they were ready to comply with all regulations regarding their work.

“These new parking lots have tremendously improved the condition of the town besides making the area more spacious. This is an incredible job from the county government. We look forward to work with them closely,” said Evans Onditi, a veteran taxi driver.

He said the demarcations would make it easier for them to identify their territory and pay for it without much bureaucracy as before.

“Right now, all of us will have our own territory without any confusion as before. This will make execution of our work much easier and we are very happy for that,” he added.

The BodaBoda riders were also not left behind despite their constant wrangles with the county government, especially towards the end of last year.

Winston Ochengo also a veteran motorbike rider said their persistent squabbles with the county government will end following the construction of new shades.

“Our shades have been put in place and this is the beginning of good things. I think from today we will be friends with the county government,” he said.
