The road which connects the two townships commonly known as business niches in the county is expected to be completed by May this year.

Nyamira County governor John Nyagarama on Wednesday in the county headquarters said that the project was one of the mega projects that will see all the 20 Wards in the county benefit from the expected construction of 250km road network in the region.

“Good infrastructure is one of the co-pledges that we made during campaigns. The road will be part of 250km we intend to construct by the end of this year,” disclosed Nyagarama adding that the county engineers are working tirelessly to ensure that the objective is accomplished and are very glad with the support the County Assembly is giving.

Many residents have applauded the county government for improving the aforementioned road that is considered one of the major road networks in the region even before its completion.

“As a community, we are very happy with the project that will ensure we execute our businesses in a smooth manner. This is highly commendable and we urge the leadership to ensure that even other regions benefit from such projects,” said Daniel Oginda, a businessman.

Oginda urged contractors to hasten the process before the commencement of expected rains this March that may render the place impassable.

“I will be glad if the constructors finish the construction before march because it will start raining soon, a situation that would render the many roads impassable and this is normally dangerous for business community,” added Oginda.
