Kisii MCAs’ Chief Officers and Cec are set for an induction exercise in Mombasa on 12 February 2018.
However, some locals have claimed that the planned exercise is a waste of money.
"The new season of benchmarking is here. And the first off the blocks are the Kisii Members of the County Assembly, next week on 12th February 2018, they will fly to the Coast with the Chief Officers and Cec(Ministers), for induction," said Mr Simba Joseph, one of the locals.
"Why are the good Chief Officers, Cec(Ministers) and MCAs of Kisii not proud of Kisii County? Would it not be suitable and cheaper to hold an induction in Kisii to build the water-stressed county’s economy," he added.
"Taking more than 60 MCAs 10 Cec(Ministers) and Chief Officers to the Coast for a 5-day induction course at Sh25,000 per diem, including transport at Sh300,000 each, costing Kisii taxpayers Sh99.8 million," he said.
The county government is yet to respond on the allegations.
