The county government of Nakuru is set to rehabilitate street children, commercial sex workers, drug and alcohol addicts following a partnership with a non governmental group, governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said.
Speaking to the group on Friday, Mbugua commended the initiative, saying that the vision of Hope Restoration Initiative was good and workable.
"The group has the potential to improve public service delivery and this will be a prototype for local partnership with the government. The initiative has already done a superb job in identifying critical concerns that need intervention in the society and has also gone an extra mile of establishing strategies to offer solutions," he said
Mbugua assured the group of a second meeting with them which he said he will have constituted a technical team that will augment implementation of the plan.
"The concept is well detailed and requires multi-sector implementation approach. In the same meeting, the initiative will be be explored further to create a synergy with the Nakuru County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017," he said.
Also present was Nominated MCA Rosemary Okemwa.
