On Friday, Deputy Governor Abdi Dagane said that the county and national governments are working together to ensure that they offer to streamline services.

Upon constitution, the board is expected to address different land issues affecting the residents of this part of the nation in the next five years.“The board will ensure we stop this mess in the lands docket,” he said, as quoted by The Star. The second in command at the county level also called upon the local residents not to fence their pieces of land until the board has been constituted and tussles settled.

“We have plans to give free land to those in need,” he said. On his part, County commissioner James Kianda urged the locals not to take action against persons breaching their rights.“We don’t see why people should form groups and cartels to issue land while there is an authority mandated by law to demarcate land through the county,” Kianda said. The county government has already unveiled its plans to demarcate 100,000 plots.
