Nakuru county government in collaboration with the national government will sink more than 100 dams within Subukia as one way of mitigating water shortage during the dry seasons, Governor Lee Kinyanjui has said.
Speaking in Subukia, Kinyanjui said the dams will play a great role in helping vegetable farmers who are involved in short season crops.
"We shall ensure that the dams are done here to help in harvesting the rain water so that people can have enough stock for the dry period," he said.
He said most of the dry parts of the county experience huge challenges in getting food production and the solution is to invest in water harvesting.
