Kiambu county government has been told to fast-track repair and renovations of roads.
Addressing locals at Kiambu town on Monday, area MP Jude Njomo raised concerns that some roads in the constituency are in deplorable condition.
The MP said that Kiambu town being the centre of the county should have proper infrastructure development.
The lawmaker added that poor roads continue to inconvenience traders adding that it might also scare away investors.
“My appeal is to Governor William Kabogo to spearhead infrastructure development,” said Njomo.
The legislator also asked the county government to take action against contractors who take long to complete their projects.
He said that some contractors conduct shoddy work which only end up making matters worse.
The MP said time is running out and the county government should get serious and work for the people.
On unemployment among the youths, Njomo called for more policies that will create jobs. He said the constituency is among those with the high numbers of unemployed people.
Njomo intimated that the situation has resulted in crime and other unlawful acts.
