Speaking today during a funeral service of Mama Lucy Moraa at Nyamotaro village, speaker after speaker reiterated the importance of the matter since most of them were compelled to seek morgue services from Kisii town.

“It is unfortunate that we have to transfer our loved ones whenever they pass on to Kisii town yet we have a hospital around that can be equipped. We are tired to travel all times to the county headquarters,” said Alfred Mokaya.

“Since independence we have been promised over the same but the status quo remains. We now appeal to the county government to step up and pursue the issue,” he added.

They accused area CDF committee and Kitutu Chache North constituency leadership for failing to solve the matter despite their awareness.

“I know our CDF can be used to construct the mortuary for the benefit of our people. All they have done is to distance themselves from us,” said Alice Okioma.

However, area MCA Dennis Ombachi promised to table the matter in Kisii County committee on finance as an urgent issue.

“It is unfortunate that our people have to travel all the way to Kisii to seek morgue facilities. I will persuade my colleagues in county assembly to intervene,” he said.
