Ruiru Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairperson Simon Ng’ang’a wants the county government to implement policies that will improve people’s living standards.
Addressing locals at Ruiru shopping centre on Friday, Ng’ang’a said the county has enough resources that should be used to promote locals livelihoods.
The official said the people are entitled to good services and that the county should not deny anyone services.
“The Kiambu County Government has no excuse but to ensure every resident has access to quality and affordable services,” he said.
Ng’ang’a said devolution of key services was meant to ensure that locals at grass roots have access to them.
On the same note he called on the county government to initiate policies that will encourage both local and foreign investment.
“The county has the potential to attract and host both local and foreign investors,” said Ng’ang’a.
He added that encouraging foreign investments would create employment opportunities especially for the huge number of unemployed youths.
The official however, raised reservations saying that continued wars between county leaders would likely scare away investors.
He urged county leaders to embrace each other and give dialogue a chance instead of taking part in actions that will derail development of the county.
