The MCA complained that the area has no access to clean water. He said that most taps have run dry.

Speaking on Tuesday in Thika town, the MCA noted that water is an important basic commodity that should be provided at all times.

“Kiambu county government should supply us with clean water for drinking and general use,” said Wamwangi.

Mwangi said that residents have been forced to buy water from vendors which are being sold at higher prices.

The Ward Representative said some residents have been forced to drink unsafe water a move he said might lead to outbreak of diseases.

Meanwhile, Mwangi urged the county government to improve on sanitation standards noting that sewage systems are in poor condition.

He said the situation is worse during heavy rains and often inconvenience residents and business people.
