The World Youth Parliament has called on county leaderships across the country to engage youth in their systems in a bid of ensuring their lives are improved.
Through the parliament's president Omulo Junior, the organisation said that all the counties, apart from Nairobi had neglected the youth in their development structures.
"Youth from the counties, apart from Nairobi, have been neglected by their respective leaderships. This must stop with immediate effect,” said Junior.
Addressing the Press at Mlolongo town in Machakos County on Saturday, Junior laudedthe leadership of Machakos County for being innovative in creating jobs for the youth.
He argued that it was high time county governments had dialogue with the youth and come up with strategic plans for the betterment of the counties and the youth.
The youth leader said the country had failed in addressing the plight of youth because it has not fully engaged the youth in several areas.
Junior called on all the governors to be on the forefront in ensuring youth issues and concerns were effectively addressed to reduce crime masterminded by the youth.
