Kisii county government has been lauded for her Sh10 billion budget in the 2016/2017 financial year.

According to the Kisii county residents, the budget will improve the development and benefits the common 'mwananchi'.

Addressing the press in Kisii town, residents led by Cyrus Barongo hailed Kisii county government for the budget and urged the county to spend the budget money wisely in development.

“We have some incomplete markets in our county we need those markets to be completed as early as possible using the new budget money,” said Barongo.

“Let our Governor James Ongwae make sure all impassable roads in the county are fully constructed to ease the transportation sector in the county because when the rain pours we experience more challenges in transporting our produce to various markets,” said Gladys Isoe a resident.

They also asked the county to monitor how the money will be spent to hinder corruption cases and threatened to call on EACC if the money should not spend wisely.

The health sector was allocated Sh3 billion, roads and infrastructure, county assembly were allocated Sh1 billion, education got Sh873 million while water and environment pocketed Sh5 million.
