Over six hundred professionals from Machakos county gathered at the 680 Hotel for their inaugural professional's forum.

The meeting kicked off a few minutes past 7pm with a brief introduction of the Agendas by Thadeus Mutisya Director of communication office of the senator then presentations by the facilitators; Dr Jonathan Nzuma, Andrew Wambua, Angela Ndaka, Mwendwa Mutuku, Benson Metho and Dr Susan Musyoka.

The presenters took the professionals through aspects such as evaluation of the progress made so far in the county, principles of devolution, public participation, corruption in the county, youth participation in governance, the role of social media among other topics. 

The professionals also charted the way forward for their county. The elected leaders present did a presentation on their achievements and how they plan to move the county forward.

For instance, senator Muthama outlined how his office has fought graft in the county and how he will push for the public petition by Machakos residents on corruption to be fast tracked.

Aspirants of various positions in next year general elections were present. Governor, Aspirants of various positions in next year general elections were present.

They included Gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti, senatorial aspirant Henry Kioko, Women rep aspirants Kamene, Rita Ndunge among others.

The professionals urged the community to register as voters and ensure a huge turnout. 

Governor Mutua was absent in the forum and it's not clear whether he was invited. 

The senator also promised that the initiative will be taken to the grassroots in the coming days.
