Omache said in her tenure, there will zero strike cases and health care services will be affordable.

“I will ensure all the medics’ demands such as good payment, improved working conditions among others are met to avoid crippled services at the public health facilities across the county,” she said.

The minister also promised massive supply of drugs to public hospitals in the county to reduce the burden given to patients when buying the drugs from private chemists.

“Despite the government spending millions of money to purchase drugs, people are being referred to private chemists to buy drugs at high prices. For the next 5 years, this will not happen in Kisii County because the patients will get free drugs at the hospitals which the government will stock,” she added.

Omache called on doctors and nurses in the county to raise their grievances directly to her office without any fear so that she can address them in time to ensure smooth service delivery.

The minister was speaking at Water Park Hotel in Kisii on Friday during a meeting organised by Bonchari Citizens Council.
