The county government of Uasin Gishu is training 26 health officers on the latest updates on its Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) development and customization.

The training is also aimed at enabling the officers to receive reports on system implementation from identified implementing health facilities and evaluate electronic Ministry of Health register.

The county has already development a modern Information Communication Technology (ICT) Data Centre, installed computer networks in 12 health facilities and started using Hospital Health Information System (HMIS) in 8 high volume health facilities and 6 sub county pharmacy stores.

"This training seeks to ensure our officers are up to date with the use of ICT in our hospital management for effective service delivery," said Health Services CeC Margret Chepkwony.

"So far Turbo, Ziwa, Huruma, Pioneer, Chepkanga, MOis Bridge and Burnt Forest Hospitals have fully embraced technology," she added.

The officers trained included County Hospital Health Information System (HMIS) implementing health facilities in-charges, Human Resource Information Officers (HRIOs) and HMIS ICT Support Team.
