Addressing the directors and other senior officers during the training, CeC member in charge of Administration, Public Service and Stakeholder Management Peris Onsarigo said that this was in line with the New Year’s resolution to make this a ‘year of action’.

Onsarigo noted that attitude change and management of change will be crucial in ensuring the set targets are achieved.

“Our New Year resolution as a county was to deliver to the people of Kisii, and this can only be achieved through change. We should serve the people whole heartedly,” she said.

She called on all officers working for Kisii County at all levels to accept and adapt to the new policies and systems that came with counties, observing that most employees were adopted from the defunct local authorities.

She urged all senior government officers to ensure improvement in service delivery through individual commitment and responsibility, as they work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Kisii County.

Last month, Governor James Ongwae announced that all officers in his Government will be put on performance contracts, as a management tool to enhance service delivery.
