Mombasa residents will now be required to give a 14-day notices before hosting any function.

The move is meant to curb cholera spread in the County.

This is for cases where food and drinks are outsourced, health executive Hazel Koitaba said following two deaths.

In a statement, Koitaba stated that the county's new plan is to ensure that unauthorized food vendors are not supplying food.

"I have appointed a multi-sectoral taskf orce to oversee the implementation of this directive," the letter stated.

Many small scale business owners who have been affected have complained; some termed the county unfair as they depend on the hawkers.
