The County Government of Uasin Gishu and the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) have signed an MoU giving nod for establishment of the institute's constituent campus in Eldoret.
The deal signed on Tuesday at the County headquarters will see to it that KIMC establishes a campus in Eldoret's Outspan area.
Governor Jackson Mandago signed on behalf of the County Government in the presence of County Attorney Stephen Lel. KIMC board council chair, Charles Kilonzo, signed for the institute.
The County Government of Uasin Gishu has allocated a 16-acre piece of land for the establishment of the campus.
Governor Mandago said: "We want this program starts as soon as possible, in fact, we have given you (KIMC) a facility in Pioneer; four classrooms and an administration block to kickstart the activities as the other project rolls in Outspan."
"...as a government, we are cognizant that communication is very important, and our staff may want to enroll for some courses," said Mandago.
The campus will be serving up to 15 counties, North Rift, and Western Regions.
Kilonzo said works for the construction of the campus starts as soon as requisite documents are obtained.
"Construction starts immediately as soon as we get the title deed."
